Artist Residency
The Helper Art Space welcomes all visitors looking to experience contemporary art in a historic old west setting. We encourage artists of all kinds looking for a place to work, stay, enjoy, and be inspired by our breathtaking surroundings to apply for a short or mid-term residency program. Visiting artists are welcome to come for a day or stay as long as 4 weeks. Artists will be given use of a 2500 square foot private studio and living space equipped with a kitchen, bath, and laundry and will have access to machinery and facilities, both in our Helper location as well as at the Utah State University Eastern campus. Accepted artists are encouraged to interact with our artist community, students, and local residents through demonstrations, presentations, exhibitions, performances, or by whatever means best facilitate the creative process. As we exchange techniques, ideas, and processes, we hope to nurture a mutually beneficial relationship that fosters and enriches impactful art making for both our visiting artists as well as our community.
In cooperation with the Utah State University Eastern Art Department, we offer opportunities to demonstrate as a visiting or presenting artist for our 2-D, 3-D, Theater, or Music Departments.
