On the eastern side of the Wasatch Plateau in Central Utah, the Helper Art Space is a versatile studio, gallery, and living space located in an early 20th century tri-level building on historic Main Street in Helper, Utah. In addition to preserving the unique provenance of our space, we provide modern exhibition and accommodation opportunities for artists of all disciplines. We are part of an emergent artist community that blends the architectural aesthetics of the turn of the century American West and contemporary art practice. We offer studio facilities for artists in an idyllic setting nestled at the mouth of Price Canyon, alongside the Price River.
Helper is a small town in Carbon County, Utah, about 110 miles southeast of Salt Lake City and 7 miles northwest of the city of Price at the foot of the Book Cliffs in southeastern Utah's Castle Country. Historically regarded as the "Hub of Carbon County," Helper was established as a focal point of local coal mining and railroad activities. More recently, a community of artists has taken root in Helper and the town's identity is being reshaped into a center for cultural events and an artistic hub for southeastern Utah.
